Christian Worship in a Pagan World

I think it is safe to say we are living in a pagan culture. It propels itself enthusiastically through pop culture. A line has been drawn between pagan culture and normative culture and we can no longer pretend it’s not there.

Everyone seems to be talking and commenting on the satanic worship and the celebration of transgenderism at the Grammys the other night. I have a different take. It seems to me that a lot of modern worship looks like the Grammy exhibition.

So I ask the question, it matters who we worship. But does it matter how we worship?  There were moments in the Bible where worship resembled pagan worship and was condemned by God.

I think it is time that we have an honest look at modern worship in light of culture and Scripture. Have we been influenced by the pagan culture in our worship?  Are we being biblical in our worship? Does our worship bear witness to the righteousness of God, his purity, his holiness, and to his beauty?

We need to consider our practices.
