Arminianism and Calvinism
There is a lot of talk among Christians about Arminianism vs. Calvinism. Often one is treated as an enemy by the other. Pastor search committees routinely ask if a candidate is a Calvinist. Most of the time they do not know what a Calvinist is. All they know is, a Calvinist is bad.
Of course misinformation or disinformation about Arminians and Calvinists is never good. The debate keeps people from getting to the biblical text to see what it says on any given subject. And there is the fact that there are different kinds of Arminians and different kinds of Calvinists. It can be very confusing.
