Global Warming Hits South Louisiana!

South Louisiana is known for a lot of things, swamps, alligators, sub tropical weather, but not snow. Yet, on Thursday we had 6-8 inches of snow! I am from Tennessee and it has been well over thirty years since I have seen snow like this. I got out and starting playing in the snow about 6:30 AM. By 7:30 AM I heard giggles and laughter coming from the community as children played, children who had never seen snow except in pictures and on TV. It was a wonderful morning until the limbs of trees started breaking. Our power went out and we were out for about 14 hours. But some in the community did not get power for 4 days! The damage was like that of a hurricane in some ways. But it was a beautiful disaster this time.

That Global Warming is a killer. This was probably a 100 year weather event. No one here remembers anything like this in their lifetime. What’s next, a White Christmas in the swamps?
