Being a Witness

One of the problems with our witness in the world is that the lost often find us self- superior and we act “holy.” This situation is made worse by those who talk about their journey to find God. It is all about their efforts and their wisdom. If I had to listen that, it would bother me too.

It seems to me that good theology could never say such a thing, or, it shouldn’t .  We should all talk about how God found us and how God saved is. We are sinners who have been reclaimed by Christ. That is our witness, none of us found God, Christ came in search of us.

Hopefully we reflect the glory of God in our lives. And I suppose that glory could look like one who is being high-minded. But the opposite of glory is shame and what do we have to be ashamed of? The past is gone. We are new creatures, we are justified, we have an unchangeable, exquisite future. So it seems only right that our witness be filled with humility, joy delight, and truthfulness. That is all we can do. It is God who does all the work. After all, that is what he does, he reclaims sinners.
